Rianna Phillips

Rianna Phillips led our illustrator workshop today, not only was she really useful, she was very inspiring. She showed us her Look book for her autumn 2013 collection and her work was stunning. Rianna designs digital prints that are then transferred onto clutch bags. She gave us her name if we were interested and as soon as I could, I had a closer look at her work. I absolutely love her work; she uses striking designs to create really elegant, feminine accessories, additionally her use of repeat is so individualistic and beautiful. It’s interesting to see where she collects her ideas from and the juxtaposition of some of her designs/styles within her prints. It’s been great coming across Rianna’s work as it’s so similar to what I want to do; I love digital print and my aim is to become a well established print designer. Seeing Rianna, who has also been a student a MMU and see what she is doing now, is so inspiring.
