Earlier on in the project, I was interested in laser cutting as I felt that the art nouveau, lace looking designs would really well as cut work. I still believe that this would have been really effective, however when organising an induction for the laser cutter, I wasn't able to do it by myself. Long story, short, it wasnt possible to arrange an induction in time throughout this project. Nevertheless this hasnt stopped me from forming new ideas and moving on with my project; I would still really like to experiment with laser cutting within my time a MMU. It is a shame because my designs would have really suited that style and I also did quite a bit of research within that area. BUT I can use this information another time, and even though I haven't been able to put it into practice, I feel it has been good for me to look at.

When researching the trends for Autumn/Winter 2013 on WGSN, I came across these images within the print/graphics styles. the caption read: 'Ecclesiastical- Architectural gothic structures inspire intricate contemporary patterns. For a simpler option, laser-cut in self-fabric to create surface interest on jersey or print in tone-on-tone.'
My collection is all about architectural composition and design; when developing my Art Nouveau work, the elegant lines and positions of the curved shapes, could have worked really well as a self-fabric. Nevertheless, I'm not sure if it would look to heavy within my collection. When I get a chance, I'm definitely going to experiment with these ideas.
